Archie loves his little patch of fyansford
Take me to ...
This is the latest iteration of Archie's blog. We thank the moderator of Fyansford Community Noticeboard for suggesting we refrain from posting on his site as Archie's posts perhaps would be more suited on a different blog; hence Archie's Turf, which will comprise posts based on Archie's P&P (his real home-turf) followed by our neighbourhood walk. Each photoshoot will have a different focus.

Archie's P&P Time
A necessary part of our daily routine ~ that 10 minutes immediately after getting up and before we depart for our daily around-a-block walk. That time when Archie does his business in order that he won't have to "drop a landmine" during our shared time out in the neighbourhood.
Take me there...
Psssst!
In truth, at a purely personal level, this is a daily photographic "distraction' for me.
I have several rules which guide my photoshoots
-
all photos are taken with my iPhone,
-
all photos are taken from public property (footpaths, parklands, streets or river banks). I encroach on a front garden only with owners' permission (e.g. close-ups of Lauren's imaginings).
-
I restrict myself to taking a single photo of each aspect.
-
The shoot is restricted to a circuit of one neighbourhood block (approx. 15-20 minutes).
-
On returning home I allow an hour for editing and posting of photos.
-
I minimise personally-identifying features (house numbers, number plates., personal portraits, etc.
If any member of my community would prefer a photo to be withdrawn please let me know (Fyansford.com@gmail.com)

at least once every month I try to take Archie for an adventure ~ to some more-distant Fyansford landmark.
Sure it means a drive in the car; but that's all part of the outing...
One restriction - I have to be able to navigate the terrain

If you own #56 and feel this is an invasion
of your privacy I'll remove it from my page.
It's just that I thought it delightful...

Mary helped in packaging the seeds. It took two weeks to letterbox the packs (one block per day).
It was early September, 2020, in the midst of the lockdown gloom that Jodie suggested I give sunflower seeds to neighbours. I ran with the idea.
I distributed seed packages to neighbours in Riverside, Monier and the Blackbull Ridge estates as well as lower areas in the Heights. during my morning walks with Archie.
Also a group named after each of my siblings. Mary's siblings are in the raised rose garden.

Croc
Just over a year ago
Fred appeared suddenly in our yard.
We enjoyed his company immensely;
until he just as suddenly disappeared.
Well, a week or so back Croc suddenly appeard.Archie was totally smitten.
Croc was Archie's new best friend.
Recently, they've begun a new game; a fun game of hide-n-seek.
Croc hides somewhere in the house during the night while Archie is asleep.
Sometimes it takes all day for Archie to find his friend. They get so excited....
Hey, Croc!
Gotcha!
Hey, dad! I've found Croc!
Look, there he is...
Hey, dad! I've found Croc!
Sometimes even I have difficulty finding Croc.
Those photos show Croc peeping out
from some of his hiding places.
I spy with my little eye...
Neither Archie nor I are looking forward to the day Croc suddenly disappears.

The McAuliffe Drive Roadside Library
This wonderful little, free library has been operating successfully for some time now.
Archie has decided to place a book from his series in the library for community use each Saturday with the idea being that people return the books after reading them so they may be enjoyed by all.
The books are designed as "Read with" books, i.e. nannas and pops, aunts and uncles, mums-n-dads can share them with their little ones.
e-book versions of Archie's books are available at....
