Back in the swirling mists of time
in the not-so-early, post-colonial era
there existed in the hamlet of Fyans' Ford
an old Mechanics Institute and Free Lending Library.
On entering the front door
you enter what was then called
the gentleman's retreat
Sexist, I know, but that's the way it was; mechanics being mechanics.
I daresay things have changed over the years...
The library shelves were filled with e-books; unheard of at the time.
